I have already tried some of them before I went to Han Pan. Well, honestly, I’m not a big fan of Korean BBQ. When my friend told me how amazing the food was and how she enjoyed the atmosphere there, etc. I was like, okay, it sounds good. However, when my friends took me for lunch in Han Pan, I went. When I saw it from the outside, I doubted it wasn’t a coffee shop.[/cs_text][/cs_column][/cs_row][cs_row inner_container=”true” marginless_columns=”false” style=”margin: 0px auto;padding: 0px;”][cs_column fade=”false” fade_animation=”in” fade_animation_offset=”45px” fade_duration=”750″ type=”1/3″ style=”padding: 0px;”] [/cs_column][cs_column fade=”false” fade_animation=”in” fade_animation_offset=”45px” fade_duration=”750″ type=”1/3″ style=”padding: 0px;”][x_image type=”none” src=”https://supcz.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/01/Han-Pan-1.jpg” alt=”” link=”false” href=”#” title=”” target=”” info=”none” info_place=”top” info_trigger=”hover” info_content=””][/cs_column][cs_column fade=”false” fade_animation=”in” fade_animation_offset=”45px” fade_duration=”750″ type=”1/3″ style=”padding: 0px;”] [/cs_column][/cs_row][cs_row inner_container=”true” marginless_columns=”false” style=”margin: 0px auto;padding: 0px;”][cs_column fade=”false” fade_animation=”in” fade_animation_offset=”45px” fade_duration=”750″ type=”1/1″ style=”padding: 0px;”][cs_text]When you enter, please mind your step, because I nearly fell down. The floor of the entrance is composed of several huge tiles. Between each tile, there are gaps filled with lots of cobblestones, and I slipped on those cobblestones. So embarrassing! After I walked inside, I was surprised! Normally, a restaurant in central downtown is supposed to have as many seats as possible. But not Han Pan, it is dim and spacious, with several separate and private sections. After my friends told me the owner of Han Pan is a Korean guy, and he decorated the restaurant as similar as those popular BBQ restaurants back in Korea. Well, It explains why this place is more private, less crowded. Not only the Korean decoration, all the grilling machines and roasting plates are also from Korea, in order to make sure the zesty and flavorful food, a taste of Korea. With the utensils, especially the plate in front of you, please do not be surprised by it. Yep, it is absolutely a dish but with different shape.[/cs_text][/cs_column][/cs_row][cs_row inner_container=”true” marginless_columns=”false” style=”margin: 0px auto;padding: 0px;”][cs_column fade=”false” fade_animation=”in” fade_animation_offset=”45px” fade_duration=”750″ type=”1/2″ style=”padding: 0px;”][x_image type=”none” src=”https://supcz.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/01/Han-Pan-2.jpg” alt=”” link=”false” href=”#” title=”” target=”” info=”none” info_place=”top” info_trigger=”hover” info_content=””][/cs_column][cs_column fade=”false” fade_animation=”in” fade_animation_offset=”45px” fade_duration=”750″ type=”1/2″ style=”padding: 0px;”][x_image type=”none” src=”https://supcz.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/01/Han-Pan-3.jpg” alt=”” link=”false” href=”#” title=”” target=”” info=”none” info_place=”top” info_trigger=”hover” info_content=””][/cs_column][/cs_row][cs_row inner_container=”true” marginless_columns=”false” style=”margin: 0px auto;padding: 0px;”][cs_column fade=”false” fade_animation=”in” fade_animation_offset=”45px” fade_duration=”750″ type=”1/1″ style=”padding: 0px;”][x_line style=”border-top-width: 1px;”][/cs_column][/cs_row][cs_row inner_container=”true” marginless_columns=”false” style=”margin: 0px auto;padding: 0px;”][cs_column fade=”false” fade_animation=”in” fade_animation_offset=”45px” fade_duration=”750″ type=”1/3″ style=”padding: 0px;”] [/cs_column][cs_column fade=”false” fade_animation=”in” fade_animation_offset=”45px” fade_duration=”750″ type=”1/3″ style=”padding: 0px;”][x_image type=”none” src=”https://supcz.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/01/Han-Pan-4.jpg” alt=”” link=”false” href=”#” title=”” target=”” info=”none” info_place=”top” info_trigger=”hover” info_content=””][/cs_column][cs_column fade=”false” fade_animation=”in” fade_animation_offset=”45px” fade_duration=”750″ type=”1/3″ style=”padding: 0px;”] [/cs_column][/cs_row][cs_row inner_container=”true” marginless_columns=”false” style=”margin: 0px auto;padding: 0px;”][cs_column fade=”false” fade_animation=”in” fade_animation_offset=”45px” fade_duration=”750″ type=”1/1″ style=”padding: 0px;”][cs_text]Ok, carry on. Banchans (side dishes) are already served on each table, which includes an assortment of greens (lettuce, red wave lettuce, frizze). Along with anther plate of onion, mushrooms and pickles with sweet chili sauce: kimchi (pickled cabbage in a spicy sauce); sliced fish cakes and bean sprouts.
If you order at least two dishes of meat, they also offer deep-fried rice cakes with chili sauce, crisp-skinned, soft and sticky inside; kimchi soup, spicy and delicious; a bowl of raw egg with cheese in it, which is cheesy and savory after grilled in a onion ring (this dish called洋葱蛋,yang2 cong1 dan4). Han Pan also uses e-menu with photos of food, same as Xi Zuo, but you need ask a staff member to write down the orders. They serve pork, beef, chicken, ducks, prawns, squids and some other dishes for grilling. If you are looking for pork, there are one marinated and three unmarinated dishes. The marinated pork with cheese dish will cost you 48rmb. Unmarinated pork includes original pork (38rmb), pork with garlic chives (45rmb) and pork preserved by pine needles (48rmb). Both the shoulder butt and pork belly are the same price. I prefer pork shoulder butt (梅肉 mei2 rou4) rather than pork belly (五花肉 wu3 hua1 rou4), because the shoulder part is tastier and less oily.[/cs_text][/cs_column][/cs_row][cs_row inner_container=”true” marginless_columns=”false” style=”margin: 0px auto;padding: 0px;”][cs_column fade=”false” fade_animation=”in” fade_animation_offset=”45px” fade_duration=”750″ type=”1/3″ style=”padding: 0px;”] [/cs_column][cs_column fade=”false” fade_animation=”in” fade_animation_offset=”45px” fade_duration=”750″ type=”1/3″ style=”padding: 0px;”][x_image type=”none” src=”” alt=”” link=”false” href=”#” title=”” target=”” info=”none” info_place=”top” info_trigger=”hover” info_content=””][/cs_column][cs_column fade=”false” fade_animation=”in” fade_animation_offset=”45px” fade_duration=”750″ type=”1/3″ style=”padding: 0px;”] [/cs_column][/cs_row][cs_row inner_container=”true” marginless_columns=”false” style=”margin: 0px auto;padding: 0px;”][cs_column fade=”false” fade_animation=”in” fade_animation_offset=”45px” fade_duration=”750″ type=”1/1″ style=”padding: 0px;”][cs_text]I recommend marinated butt with cheese, spicy and cheesy. One of my friends loves the one preserved by pine needles, like she said, a taste of nature. However, if you want to try something interesting, there is a small fire show while roasting an original pork dish.
We have not try other types of meats yet. But we did try a dish of sausages. Well, not bad, but I do not think I will order it next time, just ordinary. If you love challenge, why not try pigskin? It is well handled and quite clean. It is chewy, juicy and a bit sticky. Pork neck is also a dish worth trying which sounds kind of weird, but if cooked well, basically, is like an amazing uncured, crispy bacon.[/cs_text][/cs_column][/cs_row][/cs_section][cs_section parallax=”false” style=”margin: 0px;padding: 45px 0px;”][cs_row inner_container=”true” marginless_columns=”false” style=”margin: 0px auto;padding: 0px;”][cs_column fade=”false” fade_animation=”in” fade_animation_offset=”45px” fade_duration=”750″ type=”1/1″ style=”padding: 0px;”][x_line style=”border-top-width: 1px;”][/cs_column][/cs_row][cs_row inner_container=”true” marginless_columns=”false” style=”margin: 0px auto;padding: 0px;”][cs_column fade=”false” fade_animation=”in” fade_animation_offset=”45px” fade_duration=”750″ type=”1/1″ style=”padding: 0px;”][cs_text]When you dine in Han Pan, you’re always in good hands. Servers will come and do the grilling for you, but prepare to do some of your own grilling, especially when it gets busy.
A popular way of eating Korean barbecue is to wrap meat into lettuce and add condiments such as kimchi, pickled sliced fish cakes and bean sprouts with the sauces in front of you.
In Han Pan, meat is grilled as a whole loaf, which takes quite long time to be cooked, so if you are too starving to wait, Tai Ji jeon (Korean style pancakes) could be a great choice for appetizer. A Tai Ji jeon means half kimchi jeon with seafood and half garlic chives with shelled shrimps, one dish but two tastes.
It is quite hot, sticky and oily while eating Korean barbecue in summer time. So, cold noodle with beef in a ice bowl (冰块碗牛腩冷面,bing1 kuai4 wan3 niu2 nan2 leng3 mian4) is a must-try dish, noodles are slippery, a bit chewy with taste. But the key of this dish is the ice bowl, which is totally made by ice, and you can actually eat the whole ice bowl if you like.[/cs_text][/cs_column][/cs_row][cs_row inner_container=”true” marginless_columns=”false” style=”margin: 0px auto;padding: 0px;”][cs_column fade=”false” fade_animation=”in” fade_animation_offset=”45px” fade_duration=”750″ type=”1/3″ style=”padding: 0px;”] [/cs_column][cs_column fade=”false” fade_animation=”in” fade_animation_offset=”45px” fade_duration=”750″ type=”1/3″ style=”padding: 0px;”][x_image type=”none” src=”https://supcz.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/01/Han-Pan-7.jpg” alt=”” link=”false” href=”#” title=”” target=”” info=”none” info_place=”top” info_trigger=”hover” info_content=””][/cs_column][cs_column fade=”false” fade_animation=”in” fade_animation_offset=”45px” fade_duration=”750″ type=”1/3″ style=”padding: 0px;”] [/cs_column][/cs_row][cs_row inner_container=”true” marginless_columns=”false” style=”margin: 0px auto;padding: 0px;”][cs_column fade=”false” fade_animation=”in” fade_animation_offset=”45px” fade_duration=”750″ type=”1/1″ style=”padding: 0px;”][cs_text]Han Pan restaurant sells Korean alcoholic beverages. 1.   The side dishes and free dishes will be replenished as long as you keep asking the server for refills, except mushrooms. We may have gotten 3 or 4 refills. So don’t be shy and ask for more.
2.   Your clothes will still positively reek of Bulgogi, so don’t forget to bring some air freshener if you have any.
3.   On Fridays and Saturdays, the restaurant stays open until after midnight, to 2am.
4. Han Pan is more suitable for family dinners or a couple of friends to catch up. Minimum of 3 people will give you a better value, meaning you may try more dishes.[/cs_text][/cs_column][/cs_row][cs_row inner_container=”true” marginless_columns=”false” style=”margin: 0px auto;padding: 0px;”][cs_column fade=”false” fade_animation=”in” fade_animation_offset=”45px” fade_duration=”750″ type=”1/1″ style=”padding: 0px;”][x_line style=”border-top-width: 1px;”][/cs_column][/cs_row][cs_row inner_container=”true” marginless_columns=”false” style=”margin: 0px auto;padding: 0px;”][cs_column fade=”false” fade_animation=”in” fade_animation_offset=”45px” fade_duration=”750″ type=”1/1″ style=”padding: 0px;”][cs_text] No. 142, Yanling west road (1st floor of Xin Long Da Sha, near Burger King), opposite to Nan Da Jie Pedestrian Street.[/cs_text][/cs_column][/cs_row][cs_row inner_container=”true” marginless_columns=”false” style=”margin: 0px auto;padding: 0px;”][cs_column fade=”false” fade_animation=”in” fade_animation_offset=”45px” fade_duration=”750″ type=”1/1″ style=”padding: 0px;”][cs_text] 11:00am to 9:00pm, 7 days a week.[/cs_text][/cs_column][/cs_row][/cs_section][cs_section parallax=”false” style=”margin: 0px;padding: 45px 0px;”][cs_row inner_container=”true” marginless_columns=”false” style=”margin: 0px auto;padding: 0px;”][cs_column fade=”false” fade_animation=”in” fade_animation_offset=”45px” fade_duration=”750″ type=”1/1″ style=”padding: 0px;”][x_line style=”border-top-width: 1px;”][/cs_column][/cs_row][cs_row inner_container=”true” marginless_columns=”false” style=”margin: 0px auto;padding: 0px;”][cs_column fade=”false” fade_animation=”in” fade_animation_offset=”45px” fade_duration=”750″ type=”1/1″ style=”padding: 0px;”][cs_text class=”cs-ta-center”]Article by Kirsten Lu[/cs_text][/cs_column][/cs_row][cs_row inner_container=”true” marginless_columns=”false” style=”margin: 0px auto;padding: 0px;”][cs_column fade=”false” fade_animation=”in” fade_animation_offset=”45px” fade_duration=”750″ type=”1/1″ style=”padding: 0px;”][x_share title=”Share this Post” share_title=”” facebook=”true” twitter=”false” google_plus=”false” linkedin=”true” pinterest=”false” reddit=”false” email=”true” email_subject=”Hey, thought you might enjoy this!
